Fall Fundraiser

The fall fundraiser, Genevieve's, is underway at Pine Glen.

Genevieve's offers a variety of gift ideas for the holiday season.  The items available for purchase include chocolate, kitchen gadgets, candles, picture frames, baking mixes and jewelry to name a few things.  The biggest seller is the gift wrap paper for birthdays and holidays.

There are prizes available to students who sell anywhere from 1 - 175 (or more) items.   Students are encouraged to talk to family and friends only.  We do not want kids going door to door to sell.

Orders can be made either online with a credit card or in hard copy (student has form) payable by cash or check.  All orders must be received by October 2.  If you have any questions please contact Carol McDonald Macri at 781.365.0052.

PTO Meeting this Thursday

This Thursday (Sept 20th) is the first PTO meeting of the new school year. Meeting starts promptly at 7pm in the school lobby.

Our special guest will be Dan Callahan from the Tech Center.  Big news this year - the 4th and 5th graders are 1:1 with the IPad and the 1st graders part of an IPad pilot program.

Look forward to seeing you on Thursday.

Back to School

A new school year is always an exciting time for kids and parents alike. As a parent, I look forward to getting back into the school routine.  For kids, it's meeting their new teacher, seeing their new classroom and finding old friends and making new ones.

One of the more challenging things to a new school year is sifting through all the paperwork that comes home on the first day of school.  In that huge packet of paper, you'll find the new PTO brochure highlighting the enrichment programs, from Kindergarten orientation to 5th grade Camp Bournedale.  Your support is the key to the success of the Pine Glen PTO.  Your participation can be as simple as collecting and sending in Box Tops, Campbell's Labels or Coke Rewards tops, or you can get more involved by volunteering for a committee.  Any and all participation is welcomed and appreciated.

We hope that you'll take the time to review the PTO materials sent home today in your child's backpack and send in your dues. Sign up to receive the PTO Blog announcements and use this site as a reference tool throughout the year.

We look forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary year of Pine Glen.
